a4tdi130
I know it's not out yet, but I was wondering if anybody has managed to find any info on the web that states whether or not you can change the maps on the new TomTom GO 700? I wonder because it has a built in 2.5Gb hard drive, with "all UK/EU maps preinstalled", does this mean you cannot change them? I'm going to the US for 3 weeks later in the year and would want to install the maps for Florida so I can take the unit with me and use it whilst over there. If the maps cannot be changed though, I may aswell go for the 300/500 which has an SD card slot and hence definitely will allow them to be changed. Thanks! Blaa
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can download more maps and updates from the tomtom homepage.
a4tdi130
I'm hoping so... it should be released any day now and I'm definitely going to get one. I started to go down the in-car PC route (mini pc, touch screen, etc). Had it all working great but couldn't find a decent place to put the screen so am selling all the kit (see the ad in market-place!) and sticking to the TomTom 700 plan. Guest PeterPiper
I have picked up from another forum that release date for both 500 and 700 has been put back to end of June/early July. I dont know if that is correct, does anyone have any information?
a4tdi130
According to most websites, they are expecting stock around mid-June (this has already been delayed, original date was mid-May). Sites like Expansys and Amazon are quoting availability dates of about a week from now.
