Rusty
Hi folks, Can anyone help. Does anyone know where the airbag control module is located and how it is removed? Cheers Rusty
Tendaimwari
It is situated underneath the AC pack within the centre console. It is a right rastard. The console for the gear lever has to be taken out six screws. The gear lever needs to be taken off. Circlip. Raise handbrake and lift out console. Thats the easy part. Disconnect battery. Remove side plates from ac unit and foot rest on drivers side. Start cursing constantly for about twenty minutes once you realise you can see the little bugger but cannot get to the two nuts that hold it down. Then you can either do two things. Put it all back together, cursing constantly. Or, still cursing, take it to a stealers and get them to sting you forthe work. Qusetion. Why do you need it removing? Rusty
Hi there, the controller has to be removed because it is fecked. Air bag light came on at the weekend and checked it with VAgcom. Controller has a code 65535 which I have been told means it is knackered. Cheers Rusty
Funki
I got exactly the same 65535 code from my Audi A3 ECU controller. But there is a happy ending to my story, I got a nice guy I know in Germany to reprogram the unit for £60 and now everything is sweet Everything appart from my hands that is, after taking out half the dashboard and putting it together again that is, believe you me, I've got the scars to prove it!! I won't post his email address as spammers harvest them from BBS's. This guy it top notch, good coms, no problems. He saved me the best part of a £1000.
