s4dreamer
You might want to check out the Olympus mju Mini - very compact and 4MP for £160.

cruiser647
I have recently bought a 4MP Nikon CoolPix for just over £120. new on eBay. Genius camera - uses SD memory cards, so no probs with my existing card reader. It has 3x Optical zoom and loads of fancy bollox features that I won't use! Would you really use the waterproof bit? pictures taken underwater are a bit pants and nothing like how you see them!
Tomk
that is 100% true, but on holiday, at alton towers etc it would mean that i never need to worry about it getting dirty, wet etc !
bazza_g
If you're looking for a camera to take out in the evening to snap your mates drunken antics - this may be of interset to you - Panasonic SVAS10 - perfect pocket size, only 2mp but decent enough, uses SD, doubles up as an mp3 player with remote control on headphones - I've seen it on the web for under £200 I purchased one a couple of years ago and it only broke after being dropped for the 100th time - in fact it only really broke after I tried to superglue it together and glued all the buttons in
Smudge
Once again Bazza, you excel yourself!!!

tomdymond
Just bought a Canon Ixus 700,one word.......AWESOME!!! Might be a bit of a wait to get down to that price though! Anyway here it is... http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_finder/cameras/digital/digital_ixus_700/index.asp It is sd and subsequently is smaller, thinner & sexier! tomdymond
Forgot to say if you are set on that budget then all the Ixus range are superb, you might get a 400 for that sort of dosh now.
Daz
I've just got an Ixus 700 too. Totally agree - excellent piece of kit. Also got the waterproof case for it. Just been diving in the Red Sea and got some excellent pics from it. Not bad at 30m deep.
GTiMK5
Try the Canon Ixus i5, it is smaller than most mobiles so will fit in your jeans no probs. If you shop around online you can get them within your budget with a 512 card as I did. There is also an Ixus i4 which is almost identical but 4mp as opposed to 5mp and is obviously cheaper. http://www.canon-europe.com/For_Home/Pro...rcePageID=26181

Tomk
ok been looking round and cant get it that cheap , were you recomend ? its down to the olimpus, canon i5 and pentax ( though being waterprofe may swing it )
Thorburn
I'd really recommend the Ixus, Canon are the leaders in the digital camera field at the moment imo. On a side note 256MB CF card for my Ixus just died and I ain't paying £100 for a 1GB one from PC World so gonna have to mail order. Pain in the arse as I had just taken a few really nice shots on the card.
Tomk
mmm that ixusi5 only has a 1x optical zoom... still think it may be the pentax that wins , shame cos i like the idea of somethign cheaper, boots were doing the coolpix 5200 for 100 quid but i coudl not get one ! GTiMK5
I got an Ixus i5 for £210 a couple of months ago but including a 512 card but I did have it sent abroad so managed to get the vat off. It is a brilliant camera for its size, you will be amazed how small it actually is. Try these links. http://www.digital-cameras.com/ www.7dayshop.com I am abroad for the next couple of weeks and have an address that it could be sent to if you wanted to arrange something so that you get the VAT off if you dont want it immediately. £219 for the camera on digital-camera.com so take the vat off that and it would be in your budget. If you are interested pm me but will have to be quick because I shall be leaving here on the 13th June so would need to order asap so it gets here in time. tomdymond
Try tapping ixus into www.ebuyer.com both the ixus 40 & 500 are in your price range and with more zoom.
GTiMK5
Ixus 500 is also a good camera, I have one of these too but it is not as small as the Ixus i5 although it will fit in your pocket, just not as well. If it is a pocket sized camera you want the i5 is by far the best cos it really is small and u get 5mp with a digital zoom. If you want a more able camera then the Ixus 500 is a good buy.
