I've owned/driven cars with over 150k miles. It all depends on how much you are paying for the car, and how much you are prepared to carry on paying. It's not always economical to buy an older high mileage car, but having said that you could put another 30k miles on without doing anything other than putting oil and fuel in, if you are lucky.

Have a look at what cars taxi drivers are using these days, you'll find loads of A4 TDi's. The father-in-law has an Audi 80 TDi with over 150k on the clock and apart from a turbo whine because some git ran it low on oil once, everything is fine. A car breaker once told me that there was no market for the VAG 1.9TDi engine because they never die.

135k on a 95 car would work out at just under 17k a year which is above average but not massive. The engines are capable if they are maintained properly, so as long as there is a complete service history with a main dealer or local specialist I can't see any reason not to go for it.

Chris.
