paulm143
I am about to embark on some improvements to my black 2002 (pre 24 valve) GTI VR6 and want your help with suggestions. I have set aside $2,000.00 to improve what is essentially a very sound car. It already has a K&N panel filter and I'm not interested in going cold-air as I live in Florida due extreme danger of water ingestion during storms. I have already purchased a 337 style rear window spoiler and a 2003 rear valance with exhaust cut out, I'm not really interested in doing much more on the body. Do you have any suggestions for chip modification? I'm looking for the most reliable and practical balanced with the best hp increase. What about exhaust systems? I am going to keep the original cat and go cat-back only and want to combine performance with sensible resonance and sound improvement (I don't want something that sounds like a 1990 civic with a cherry-bomb). Any other suggestions for performance? I got the 17" 5 spokes and am really happy with them so no need for wheels either. How about the interior? I've got the Monsoon sound system and would like to improve it, but again I don't need it to sond like a 1990 civic having the welds ripped apart by distorted bass. I'd truly appreciate any help, suggestions or comments you can send my way. Thanks paul
RedRobin
Welcome Paul.... The fact that you are in America probably means that your options/suppliers may be different. However, I think that most people here would agree that Milltek are one of the very best exhausts specialists and their products are guaranteed for as long as you own the car they are fitted to. http://www.millteksport.com//index.cfm Others here are far more expert than me re your other questions. Also this other GTI forum has more international members (I think!)....No disrespect to Tyresmoke!!.... http://www.mk5gti.com/forumdisplay.php?s=15ea41a4dae7503d8879e5205a6a5770&f=
