shark_90
I parked outside a hotel in Leicester last night. It was on the road, so no CCTV or anything, and this morning I found a MASSIVE scratch all the way along the nearside rear quarterpanel. It's really deep, looks like it's gone right down to the metal. Anyone got any ideas on what I can do with it? I'm fearing a large bill from a bodyshop I'm so annoyed. Really livid. I mean what do they get out of it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Chav
The bastards! Sorry mate Why do people do this! Hopefully, chipsaway will be able to sort it. I've seen the miracles they've done on some other peoples cars on here
shark_90
*sigh* thanks mate. I'm gonna talk to ChipsAway and see what they can do. A mate who has a van company rents some of his office/garage space to a CA franchise, so I'm about to give him a call so I can get in touch with them. It's all bloody money isn't it. I'm getting the cambelt done on Wednesday I'll have to start selling my body I think.

shark_90
Cheers EssexTdi and welcome to TSN mate Cheers too LF. Majorly furious. I've dropped it off with my mate as I was going to service his car for him so at least at the moment I don't have to look at it. Until he comes home from work. Heartbreaker. lottiefox
Someone once kicked both of my wing mirrors off a car I had - they were electric so it cost me 500 quid. I was so mad. Parked outside my house on a road at that time, they did mine and 6 other cars. Left footprints up the doors and mud on the mirrors where they had kicked. I would have kicked parts of their anatomy off if I had got them. Or, in your case, create a similar mark along it with something sharp. Not that I am normally am aggressive person!! Its just the mindlessness. ...

Thorburn
Really bad luck there, hope it doesn't cost too much to put right Utterly senseless, why the hell do people have to do stuff like that. A couple years back my mum had some secondary school kids who were skipping school snap the aerial off her Z3 when it was parked outside the primary school she worked at and someone ripped off the wing mirror on my Fiesta while it was parked (then pushed it back in with broken clips, so it came off while I was doing 70mph on the motorway scratching all my paint as it swung on the safety retention cords!) Milo
I can only echo what everyone else has said. Why people do this sort of thing is beyond me. What pleasure is there to be had in keying a car FFS? I hope you can get it sorted as cheaply as you can mate and hopefully your baby will be back in A1 condition soon. UBM
Feck - It looks bad! Sorry Shark - hope you get it fixed. Have you thought about the insurance?
shark_90
I'm scared of what it'll do to my premium UBM..it's already £3k. I'll probably get raped even more. I think ChipsAway are going to be the first port of call, after that perhaps to the bodyshop Do you think I should try insurance anyway?
UBM
No - get the chipsaway quite first! I'm sure they'll be abke to do it for less than a few ton....

shark_90
I don't think my excess is too bad.. £120 I think with £250 young drivers' levy.. but I don't think that will count on a claim of this nature. But if it's like £200 I think I'd rather just shell out for it. I'm fearing more though
UBM
Don't think it will be more than that, but I might be wrong...fingers crossed hey!

UBM
Yes - we claimed for a new phone after one was written off in a storm, we got half the value of the phone and the premium went up...
Milo
I agree. I have just forked out just under £500 to get my bumper done rather than claim. I think even an Audi approved bodyshop would be able to fix yours for less than that. Given your already extortionate premium, I wouldn't give them the chance to put it up even further. UBM
Have you shopped around Shark. That premium is obscene.
Ari
Mate that is absolutely terrible! Can only echo the sentiments of the above, it's hard to know what goes through the malformed brains of these sub humans, but one can only hope that they're at some stage on the receiving end of something much worse.
