Hopsta
I realise this should probably be in the Bimmer section however this is more of a technical query. I've got a new Nokia 8800 and i'm trying to get it to work fully with a newish (54 plate) 5 series. I'm able to pair them up ok and also read the phones address book, however when I go to make or receive calls as soon as they connect the BT side of it drops. Bazza mentioned something last week regarding 2 types of BT with regards to cars. Seems odd if I can read a phone book the phones are obviously talking to each other. any ideas ? Booster
It's due to Nokia using slightly different BT software. You will find that any other make of phone will work but Nokias and BMW bluetooth are completely incompatible.

bazza_g
Everything Bluetooth is related to profiles. There are two profiles Headset and Handsfree - if you've got a bluetooth kit that supports one and a phone that supports the other then you can pair but will have endless boggle with the actual service Lady T's dad's Nokia has never worked with his M3's bluetooth prep edit. Apparently BMW Bluetooth prep officially supports these handsets at present : Motorola V525/V500 Motorola V600 Sony Ericsson T610 Sony Ericsson T630 Siemens S55 Siemens S65 Nokia 6310i

Hopsta
Very odd, considering that there isn't one Motorola on the Approved BT list! Waylander
Incidently all unsold Nokia 8800s have been recalled by Nokia due to some glitch or other and ar to be "reissued". My sister is mad on this phone and her mobile-selling mates rang up to say this over the weekend
