Badged vs de-badged... any thoughts?

Hi,

I am a relatively recent owner of a black R32, and have only just realised that it has been debadged, so all I have front and back are is the VW badge. I was wondering if anyone knew whether this was something that could be specified when the car was first registered?

What do people think about whether it is best to keep the R debadged for discreetness, or instead source a badge for either front and/or back? Maybe this could prompt the wrong sort of people paying attention to the car?

Answers on the back of a postcard! sekret.gif

Don't think de-badging was an option at delivery but many guys have de-badged theirs....

It's a personal thing. Folk on Vortex have added badges (4Motion for instance) which I (personally) think is Chavvy!

It's up to you. No badges is OK by me. If you want to order up replacement badges, suggest you look on the Awesome GTi web-site. 169144-ok.gif TP.

Yup it's a funny thing and not to my taste either TP.

I may have taken it too far though as the 4motion logo on the gear knob has had to go, and has been replaced with one of those nice polished alloy jobs with blue neon insert

So you must have the blue neons underneath the sills as well then Ross... yelrotflmao.gif

I thought it would be a nice accent to match the neon dust caps that illuminate when the wheels rotate

OK, so those go with the chrome spinners on your 20" wheels obviously...

Back on track with the debadge - a black R is about the most subtle colour you can get, so you can always leave them off. 169144-ok.gif

I have always preferred mine without the front badge, makes it look cleaner and there is still no mistaking it for an R32. So many young kids drive around in Golf 1.6 here, with 8 exhausts (auspuffer in German "out puffer!") sticking out the back, like you said, I have the badge on the back just so they know what passed them

I definetly think you need to badge the car, anyone that is trying to disguise the car so that theiving little tw**s dont know it is an r are just fooling themselves, the big chunky steering wheel with the r32 logo, r32 seats, the brake calipers, body kit, not to mention exhaust, tend to blow its disguise, if you are interested I have a r32 front badge you can have for nowt as long as you send me a s.a.e. let me know!

Not sure if the offer is meant at me or the original poster. I am happy without the badge so the original poster can take up your offer. Thx though.

THats a good websote too, I will have a look thru it a bit more, might end up getting a badge after all. They deliver worldwide. A badge is only 11 notes but I bet a Swiss garage charge 111! might be worth asking for a laugh *runs off to look up the swiss German for "front badge"
