lenny
Ok guys, here is the big one. I bought 10m of alcantara from a merc SLK.. It is beautiful material and I was thinking of re-triming my R32 seats with it! I have included a pic of the material shoved into the sides of the seats to give a idea what it would look like. Bear in mind the seats will have the R logo embrodered into the top of them and the flat alcantara panels will of course have stiching over them to break them up... So should I go ahead? Or should i leave them the way they are? Cheers again....
Mook
IMO, leave them as they are - the main impact will be on resale value - not sure how many people will want after-market modified seats. But it's entirely your call Lenny - maybe you can fit the alcantara so you can remove it when you sell it..?
TP27
Leave it as it is, IMHO.
Dan32
Might have been nice in black as it wasn't a factory colour in that material. I like alcantara and as your car is silver it goes with body colour. If it can be done to at least OE spec then I say go for it. What about doing the .:R logo in silver thread or even embossed for subtle touch.
lenny
Thats exactly what I intend to do Dan32. There is no way I would just get the seats done without the logo.... The alcantara is near a perfect match for the silver car. Cheers Martyn
mb
I remember Gadget had his seats retrimmed in red and they looked really good against a red car (photos may still be in the gallery ?) if you are going for a retrim I would be tempted to get teh seat stitching done in silver thread to match the handbrake, steering wheel etc.
FiftyPence
I agree, itll go with the silver body colour of your R but otherwise i would have stuck with what you have now. Personally i have full leather (ette!) and i love it
DeCal
If the car is silver (light colour) then i think it could look ok myself
