Mook
Get a valuation from a company like www.newreg.com - you'll then need to deduct at least 30 to 40% off it to get a realistic selling price. eBay is always a good option, but bear in mind you might not sell it first time around. I had my plate listed for five weeks before it went to someone with a very smart new Mk5 GTI Best of luck
R32North
Might be worth keeping it on the car as selling point..... if not I'd start of at £500 and see where it leads! Afterall only a R32 owner is likely to buy it.... which there are a few of!!!
DeCal
I'd be interested in buying this. Please email with a buy now price or give me a call on 07960 773301 Cheers Dean

jimmyp
I have just sent a PM and now reading your post 50p i think you could be right, surely if you bought it at auction you would have an idea and being an R owner you would no this plate is worth ££££'s, as i saw this plate on the DVLA website and saw how much it went for!!! robin09
Is this where all the scam artists come to talk?! With this guy and the last bloke wanting someones chassis number so he can get an R32 part... what is the world coming to.
Mook
This was sold at auction by the DVLA in February 2005 for £2400 + VAT, + commission + transfer fee, so there won't have been any change out of £3000. FiftyPence
[ QUOTE ] im looking to sell my r32 as i hardly use it anymore R32 6OLF [/ QUOTE ] This was the first hint that its dodgy, i mean fair enough it happens but to have only just got such a plate seems very dubious. Unless he can provide proof though

jmajikr32
hi there let me clear up the problem i am the owner of the plate and im sellin due to not needin the car,i paid in total £3500 for the plate,i feel to many people doubt each other on here,i will post pics of my car for people to see it in the flesh and what i have done to the car thanx
Mook
I don't think people have intentionally shot you down in flames - as I'm sure you can appreciate, when someone has posted only a few times and then advertise to sell something as potentially valuable as your number plate, some members think there may be a scam going on - they do happen! One of the great things about TsN is the anonymity - but then it sometimes works against you in a community like this one until people get to know you. Would be great to see some pics and details of the work you've done on your R32
FiftyPence
My being so suspicious leads me to one thing, maybe I spend too much time on TSN and should be out there enjoying myself instead
R32Ash
You'd only have to use incorrect spacing and either some misplaced screws or illegal typeface letters and it could (could being the operative word) read R32 gOLF. Once the boys in blue have felt your collar and issued a 'correction' notice, what you have is a plate which cost £1,000's and reads R326 OLF. Very smart indeed... robin09
Sorry if caused offence but I'm a hideously sceptical person.
DeCal
Well either way, if you are the owner (and i'm a very trusting person ) I'm still interested in the plate. I'll make a firm offer of £2000 and i'll deliver the cash in person and collect the documents for it. Feel free to give me a call on 07960 773301 or drop me an email to Cheers Dean
JasT
^ sounds like a good deal to me, for a plate that's car specific, and requires a little spacing to get right.
GTR32
Would the ulitimate plate not be "R32"? Could you even get that in the UK? What would it be worth?
FiftyPence
you could get it made up as a display plate and replace it if you get pulled over by the coppers. Cost to you sir, approx £18.99 a set
GTR32
I see plates advertised in UK car mags (EVO etc) for huge amounts. Looking at one of these ads now I'm guessing you can't have R32 because it needs a space? How about R 32 then? Any ideas on what that would be worth, for the actual registration?
JasT
It's never been registered as far as I can tell, if sold at auction I reckon it'd fetch around £10k.
Calm Chris
There were loads of R32 plates on the DVL site 18 months ago, R32 GRR R32 PWR etc, they sold for £995 When I got my R in Dec 02 the R32 was not an available plate, nearest available was R3 or R33 so I got R3 VWG rather than V6 VWG, both were available for £249 !!! So guys R32 _ _ _ will cost £1000 + at the moment and R3 _ _ _ will cost about £495 Personally I wouldn't pay more than £1000 for a illegal plate such as R32 6OLF (or rather a plate that will be illegal when the screw head turns the 6 in to a G. Why not look for R329 OLF which without being too illegal will look like R32 9OLF a 9 looks more like a g than a 6 looking like a capital G.
