a4 seat back removel

any of you guys know how to remove the backs off the front sport seats need to run my tv wiring from the headrests inside the seat for a clean look.Have all the rest hidden in the trim just the seats left cant seem to see how they come off dont want to break anything and im not liking the sound its making as i pull from the bottom forward

Yes, I've done this. Get a flat-headed screwdriver, cover it with a rag (to avoid scratching) and insert it into the top edge of the seat back at the corner. Gently prise the seat back away from the seat, moving the screwdriver towards the centre as you go. IIRC there are three metal clips holding the seat back in. Don't be scared to use a bit of brute force as the clips are quite tight. You should be able to get your fingers between the seat back and the seat at this point. When all the clips are out, pull the seat back up towards you - there are four or five plastic hooks holding it in place at the bottom. Reverse this process to refit, fitting the bottom edge first. I actually found this bit more difficult than the removal!

cheers john ill wait for some piccies as well off scotty before i finish it all of no hurry anyway the headrests are back out need to send them of to get retrimmed in leather . Only had it in for the kids when we were away to leamington spa for the w/end there.

CHRISAN ive put 5" screens in donar headrest from a 98 a4 so i can strip it all out when selling car if i wanted. Got a lot of tips of XC90 think its his job audio installs .Bit of dremal work and time to fit the casings but not that hard if ure not to bad with ure hands
