beez
I assume it's a V8 from the 40 in the model number (BM's have it series number, then engine size as their model numbers don't they? ) and because it had 4 tail pipes. I think the bloke was called Roy. They're dead wide!
malagus
when was an 8 series made??????
PhilipdeCadenet
I think the 840 is a V* and the 850 a V12. A lot more weight in the latter ends up producing little more in the way of performance. Spoke to an 840 owner last weekend. He loves his £5K car! cruiser647
Those 8's were fabulous. If I had enough to run one...........costs more than an A8 to keep going!

v15ben
The 8 is a great cruiser - sometimes called sadly the rich man's Ford Probe!
Ari
For some bizarre reason I really dislike the 8 Series. To me it was just a 7 Series for Midlife Crisis Man. Same engines so little or no more performance, less doors, less space, less pleasant interior (dash is naff), and all for more money! And it looks like Knightrider from the front (don't mean that as a compliment either), has awful long overhangs either end, and usually looks underwheeled. Chestwig Chariot.
