Brabus
[ QUOTE ] Audi goes new ways: With high speed principle and hecklastiger force distribution the RS4 wants to offer to the BMW M3 Paroli. A comparison. New draft for the RS4 M3 with Competition parcel: pitilessly rapidly Audi goes masterfully by the curves Result and technical data More achievement is not just sometimes sufficient. Indeed, with the 344 HP S4 the Swabian Quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm puts nominally an according to achievement minimally considering M3 opponent on the wheels. Nevertheless, on the racing distance and with the action the rear-done inhabitant of Munich has up to now the nose in front. Principal reason: The heavy V8 and the frontlastig laid out four-wheel drive of the S4 provide for distinctive understeer. Certainly, indeed, but from ambitious drivers rather a little respected. With the RS4 Audi smashes a new direction into two things regard: On the one hand, while one adapted m Ltd propagated high speed principle and for the first time with one If 343 Bavarian horse power on 420 Swabia HP hits, one is guaranteed at first sometimes: a lot of fun. Since although the M3 must get by with 77 HP less, his Reihensechszylinder hoarse shouting in the upper speed area is a pleasure over and over again. Above all, if one by means of sports button the identity line of the gas pedal "scharfstellt" for what the M3 with short jerking gives a receipt; he moves gas pedal orders then pitilessly rapidly. Or if one immediately orders the Competition parcel for 5,300 euros which offers beside braking and steering system from the CSL and a sportier chassis vote, among the rest, also an Alcantara steering wheel which is equipped with the M-Track-Mode-Taste. This counter moves the DSC into a kind of semiconscious state and admits light rear movements. However, it is not deactivated. Also the RS4 serves a such spa button in the steering wheel which likewise changes not only the gas pedal-identity line in the direction of " now sometimes seriously " With the road performances the opponents lie closer together than one would suppose it: In 4.8 seconds the RS4 reaches 100 kms / h brand, the M3 finds time four tenths longer. With 250 km/h both become electronically eingebremst. If one refrains of the fact that the M3 does not crack the five second brand magic for sedans, both road performances offer on the border to the rage and an impressive background noise. If one moves in the border area on the racing distance, the differences of both philosophy become clear. By the strength distribution the RS4 with lower understeer than possibly one S4 can be thrown in the curve and reacts with load change with light screwing of the rear. One does not bring Audi, nevertheless, to violent oversteering. As soon as a Gasstoß follows the provoked load change again, the load stretches again just and builds up even on wet roadway hard Grip. The M3 wants to be used against it a little more sensitively. Result of CAR TESTS editor Ralf Kund Ob rumbling V8 or belling 6-cylinder is a taste thing. Amusing driving machines are both, about 10,000 euros of difference between prices, however, not from cardboard. For the RS4 speak his creeps engine and the more trouble-free Handling. In the barriers he can show the M3, however, only with the road performances. [/ QUOTE ] Can't be bothered with the rest....

Woppum
I can't pretend I understood much of that. But I like the Audi.
Sven
Basically they like it - a lot. It's faster than the M3, and more neutral than the S4. One dam'n fine car by the looks of it... If it weren't for our extortionate taxes on new cars I might have a go at it. But over 75% tax on top of the price is a tad much....
