matty2712
Hi I am a new member of the site and what a great site it is. My problem, A couple of weeks ago my engine management light came on, just after i topped the oil up. This coincedentally happened when i topped up an old car of mine back last year. I called th AA out as i have free membership, They did a diagnostics check and faults were: PO 134+ O2 SENSOR NO ACTIVITY DETECTED (BANK 1 SENSOR 1) PO 171 SYSTEM TOO LEAN (BANK 1) Can anybody clarify what these mean. I rung VW and they are not prepared to tell me unless they check it out themselves I then ttok down to my mates garage where he has a small hand held diagnostics machine, the same fault came up. Also something about the mixture came up, he didnt know about these faults. I hope somebody can help me here
Tobes49
Means the lambda probe infront of the cat is not working, Might be the sensor or the wiring to it?
