jamiey
Dealer just called build week is week 39 (end of Sept apparently) So hopefully Delivery before the end of October Build times must be getting faster. I'm glad I went to a dealer in the "sticks" instead of the Edinburgh. If you're up this end of the country I would recommend Central VW.
RedRobin
Great news!! I know what it feels like and so do many others here....Hang on in there (and here!) and stay on top of your dealer - but remember you achieve more with honey than vinegar. jason_s
cool, mine also steel grey, 18's, xenons, armrest, sunroof ect ect. could be sisters eh !!! how do you get your car details up on here.
jamiey
You get your car details by putting them as a signature. I really struggled with colour choice, I was originally thinking black, but then thought of white but then kept seeing this steel grey on my way to work and then built a steel grey one in Grant Turismo 4 which I looked the look of more than the black so finally made my decsion... Still like white though..
jason_s
changed my choice between red and steel grey 3 time with dealer.... Im turning into a woman arghhhhhhh !!! thought the red would fade eventually and have a black car at moment and as soon as it rains it looks filthy... SamD
I fell in love with White, I just think it looks so good that I could not help myself. Can't wait to see mine in the metal!
jamiey
Mmm My lotus is Titanium (for that read slightly lighter than steel grey)and it hides dirt really well and I don't have to clean it that often...
WhiteHArtMart
Wasn't considering Steel Grey until I saw some of the pics on here - looks really nice - think it is bewteen that Laser Blue and Red for me now! Good news that the turnaround from order to build/delivery seems to be speeding up!
jason_s
its funny, i test drove the lotus 111s and the gti V on the same day when deciding what to buy. 8 years ago when i test drove the lotus 111 i got out and had goose bumps all over. this time no goose bumps until i got out the GTI.... mind made up (not quite as practical as the gti, esp for my two dogs)!!! would still like a lotus exige though. jason_s
are you getting rid of your lotus to get the gti?
jamiey
As I said I went to quite a small dealer and quite new dealer. To the tune the salesman commented that he hadn't taken that many orders for GTIs which may mean that unlike some of the larger dealers thy had some of their allocation left. I remember a thread about the Edinburgh dealers on ukmkivs where someone said that Western Kinnard had quoted delivery next year...
jamiey
Keeping the Lotus. The GTI is a replacement for my aged Impreza Turbo which I've since new 7 yrs ago.
calmac
I found Western Kinnaird to be pretty good, it even came early! Choose the salesman wisely however.
