dimma02
Well i have my GTI about 4 weeks, 1400 miles on clock and a few niggles that I ain't a happy camper about and is in dealer next week. 1. passenger door trim rattles, needs to be removed to find rattle. 2. Front console rattle....What can you do there!!! 3. Steering slightly of centre driving on straight road..needs adjusting. 4. look where A pillar meets wing, gap is different on both sides (build quality my >>>) So undecided,, great car to drive but let down by build quality, actually went into local dealer and could visibly see bad trim, various gap differances in wings etc on other MK5 golfs...Are they just throwing these cars threw the line...Maybe its just mine and I guess if the engine stays in line, I will be happy...Check the A pillars guys, some will be fine, some with a big gap.!!!! later. lagrian
1400 miles in too I get a drivers door rattle when playing music loud, hold your hand on it and it goes away , comes from the lock area. This is repeated on the passenger side too. Also a rattle from the back sounds like the luggage load through hatch. Having said that still none of them bother me .... at the moment, too much to enjoy
calmac
With regard to rattles, I have just got my car back after 4 days in the dealers. Don't let them tell you nothing can be done, mine had numerous rattles including a couple from behind the dash. These are now all fixed and according to the technician he didn't even have to remove the dashboard. My view is that if I pay that much for a car I don't expect it to rattle more than a Fiat Uno I used to own.
CRJ_1
Too right Calmac, mine goes in on Tuesday......they're only minor rattles but I'm really conscious about them & if not sorted can totally ruin the drive!
calmac
For informations sake, it was the immobiliser wire that was not clipped down and the back seats rattled(!)
