collease
is there such a car as a mugen S2000? Reason i ask is i have heard a guyat work talking about it but not knowing much about cars i presumed it was something along the lines of a normal s2000. Soapsuds
Mugen is a Honda tuning specialist from Japan. They supply various parts to tuners. It will be a hotted S2000. They never did a factory Mugen S2000 over here, so it might be a factory import from Japan, or just a Mugen tuned standard UK S2000 Great car! Redline at about 9000 rpm!! Scream away! malagus
the mugen s2000 has a few more BHP, a limited edition bodykit and badges, comes in a 30K, but has a torque and power curve that is close to a straight line. really revvy and great fun

Rachel
Wasn't Mugen formed by Honda's son - as a racing development off shoot?

R32Ash
[ QUOTE ] Wasn't Mugen formed by Honda's son - as a racing development off shoot? [/ QUOTE ] I believe so Rachel. I seem to remember them doing 'Mugen' bikes too at one point. Not sure where that fitted in with HRC though (Honda Racing Corporation).
collease
just out of interest if you supped it up by making some large altereations like say a supercharger or turbos do you think it would blow up?
activa
[ QUOTE ] just out of interest if you supped it up by making some large altereations like say a supercharger or turbos do you think it would blow up? [/ QUOTE ] Without some serious work to the engine internals, yes. The V-Tec engines are very high compression, that just doesn't work with turbo's or superchargers running highish boost. It causes detonation which is a serious killer of engines!
Soapsuds
you WOULDNT want to bolt on a turbo or blower onto these!!! That is a Fantastic as they are! Apparently the v-tec has never had 1 engine failure yet! Something like 1 million + engines out there! Good old Hondas.... i miss my Accord Exec.... 25 mpg though! Stuff that, hence it had to go!!! NeilB
Didn't the CEO of Mugen get sent to jail for Tax fraud a few years ago?
FiftyPence
That Mugen S2000 is awesome, i like the original too. its just a shame that the average age of a honda owner is 58 as per the Top Gear website
