Exactly right!!! the r32 was a complete impulse buy... and while it is a complete car of joy (drive one and you'll see) it isn't what i want... im ready for next level now laugh.gif and seeing as i cant afford an rs6 the tuscan seems like the way to go!

so who wants it before it goes on autotrader? smile.gif

Erm yeah the Tuscan is a good car but comparing the R32, Tuscan and RS6 is not exactly "apples with apples" now is it smashfreakB.gif ?

Have you driven an RS6?

Only available in auto (slushbox) they are IMHO a great "luxobarge" if you live in mainland Europe and spend many hours crashing up and down the many long, smooth roads there.

Are you just seduced by the bhp figure?

It has totally numb steering and number suspension.

The brakes are (big as they are) inadequate for it's considerable bulk.

On the UK roads it is nothing but a very fast cruiser, no use for anything else NONO3.GIF

TVR?

Well it's a TVR and good luck jump.gif

At least the R32, whilst it cannot claim to be whatever the other two claim, i.e uber-saloon(or estate) or super-british-bulldog (nor should it at the price...a third of the cost at least of the cheapest other one here?)it is a bit of an "all-rounder".

I can't believe that if the other two were even in your mind you bought an R32, to me that's like deliberating between a Pagani Zonda and an AMG SL55 and then going out and buying an Alfa GTA suicide.gif

(just my 2p of course laugh.gif)

alan i agree with you.. i think that was the point i was trying to make... comparing the r32 and the TVR is completly stoopid.. which is why i want a tvr smile.gif the r32 although slightly more fun is very similar to the s3... not that involving to drive (ok you need to work the gears a bit more) but generally its a point and drive play... which, don't get me wrong, makes it a fecking nice car... just as the two s3's i have owned before were

but thinking about it i didnt want another s3 type car... its a personal preference thing...

and yeah the rs6 is a cruiser... but feck me its fast! (drove dave's on saturday) so if i could afford one i'd have one! smile.gif again completley different to the tvr though!

oh and az... 24,700 and its yours! smile.gif i think that is less than i paid and i have done the honours of braking it in for you too! you can have that bit for free wink.gif

I suspect a lot of us buy cars on impulse, I know I certainly do, I went in to my dealer for a stop & tail bulb, came out with an order for R32, I think you have to go with what you believe is right at the time, there ain't a lot thats gonna change your mind anyway, TVR Tuscan is a damn good choice, when im behind one I always turn off the radio & open the windows just to hear the exhaust note. Seen it put up against 7 other fast cars(Aston, Ferrari, Lotus, etc.) on a top gear program and it pissed on all of them, it's a damn fast car, in fact the only thing that kinda doesn't do it for me is that I can't dis-associate that "TVR" is short for "Trevor" the guy that owns the company confused.gif, but thats a problem that I may have to learn to live with in the future.

Golf R32 soon, maybe a Trevor in the future.

I'd really, really love to own a TVR. I think it would be essential to get the full "experinece" of ordering a new car, factory visits, choosing the colour and trim etc from a seemingly endless list etc etc.

Sounds great but then reality kicks in

1) Break down and fall to bits

2) Interior looks knackered in a very short time

3) Smell of glue the whole time

4) Depreciate like a stone

Maybe one day I'll have the nerve to throw caution to the wind and just get on with it. The T350C does look tempting.... but 43k and 12K depreciation in the first 12 months is a bit scary!

FWIW (Not much)

A lot of TVRs I've seen at car shows with 5k miles and 9 months old and the leather etc looks like a more mainstream car would after 5yrs. Saw their cars at the motor show a couple of years ago and was shocked at the (lack of) attention to detail. Things like cross head screws holiding on trim and door catches etc with the screw heads all chewed up. Thought they would take more care on a motor show show-car. There really is no excuse for this sort of thing, even if it is hand made (infact ESPECIALLY because it is hand made).

And it's called Trevor.
