Squeaky Wheels !!!!

Recommended Posts

I have a sort of warbling squeaking noise coming from the front wheels when I steer left or right (not a loud screeching). Took it to my dealers who said they couldn't hear anything after a full day of testing it - pretty strange as I heard it within 1/2 mile of leaving their bodyshop after I collected my car !!!! Anyone got any ideas ? And yes, I have had my ears syringed recently.

Some possibilities for you mate:

1) Wheel bearing on its way out. Since there's more stress on it when turning, it'll make more noise then.

2) CV joint wear. I know bugger all about mechanicals, but since this joint (on the drive shaft) is stressed more when turning, it could be squeaking. May simply need some lubrication/regrease.

3) brake pads squeaking - may only be noticable during turning due to the orientation of the wheels.

Can't think of owt else off the top of my head, but I'm sure other more technically minded people will offer helpful suggestions.

Oh, and welcome to Tyresmoke by the way smile.gif
