peterb
[ QUOTE ] Hope you enjoy it. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks - I intend to! [ QUOTE ] When's the abt upgrade? [/ QUOTE ] Standard form tends to suggest that I get the upgrade about a month before I sell it!

peterb
[ QUOTE ] (have you been rather quiet or is it just me? [/ QUOTE ] I have been quiet - my W2K machine went down over the weekend (3 out of 4 drives in the RAID are reported as broken - I'm not sure whether to believe it!) Anyway, pics - I have taken some and will upload as soon as I can.

I reckon a tenner and a pack of cheesy poofs should just about cover the cost. Hope you enjoy the car Peter! Oh, and it's considered poor show to turn up at a funeral with a silly grin on your face, so make sure you take the A2 if you have to go to one

It didn't seem too bad when we bought it 10 years ago but I don't drive it for pleasure these days!
s4dreamer
If you want to go _really_ grim, you should try this Peugeot 106 "Zest" my wife's got as a loaner whilst her Golf's in for repair. Don't know who thought up the name "Zest" for it, but "shite" would've been a better description. I'm convinced baked-bean cans have more metal in them than this pile of . It doesn't have power steering (or power anything for that matter), and drives like a supermarket trolley on bedsprings.

Crash
My mate once had a Pug 106. All 4 shocks were seriously worn that its lost its springing effect. Or you can call it a shopping trolley on bicycle pumps (worn shocks). LOL!
Bison1379134007
nice one peter! very nice motor... i got lucky enough to drive one round and round and round a runway Pug 106 "shite" you might be onto something there trev!
peterb
Okay, I've put some piccies up. For the life of me I can't see how to name the album, so it's 'Untitled' on page 8 of the Audi cars. Pete's RS6 Not being able to run a Wintel box (therefore no IE), I found the upload fairly tiresome. Iloaded the pics to my website, then had to copy them one by one to the gallery - I couldn't get it to take a whole directory full. Also, found it impossible to import pics with spaces in the filename, so I'm afraid the names are totally boring and meaningless.

Dave
Hey Pete, that looks great.. and i really like those 9 spoke alloys.. i think I prefer them to the 5 spoke now!! Also like the silver? leather.. much prefer it my black but just a non starter with my kids hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine.. when you drive it it makes you feel king of the road and nothing can even come close.. have fun blowing those scoobies off the road
peterb
[ QUOTE ] Mac User or Unix geek then Peter ? [/ QUOTE ] Errrr ... RISC OS, actually! That's the OS developed for the Acorn 32-bit machines, Archimedes, RISC PC etc. My main machine currently is an Iyonix, using a 733MHz X-Scale processor. But then I'm currently posting this from a Psion netBook (Epoc OS, on StrongARM SA1100), perched on my lap, with wireless network. Notice the common ground - British machines using derivatives of the ARM processor.

peterb
[ QUOTE ] i really like those 9 spoke alloys.. i think I prefer them to the 5 spoke now!! [/ QUOTE ] Yep. I've never been a fan of 5 spoke wheels - it took some time to get used to the 5 spoke competitions on the 2.7T. When I first saw the RS6 5 spokes, I knew I wouldn't be happy with them. Besides, I'm confident that when I come to kerbside parking, a gentle kiss isn't going to scar the wheels for life. [ QUOTE ] Also like the silver? leather.. much prefer it my black but just a non starter with my kids [/ QUOTE ] My main concern was the black roof lining (okay, I know it turns out dark grey, but it's fairly oppressive), so it was full silver upholstery (for free), or choose the headlining colour for £2100! In fact, having gone for the leather/alcantara combination (at £1450), I was offered the possibility of contrasting black/silver on the seats. [ QUOTE ] hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine.. when you drive it it makes you feel king of the road and nothing can even come close.. have fun blowing those scoobies off the road [/ QUOTE ] Oh, I will. On the drive home on Tuesday, coming of the motorway, there was an IS200 driver playing silly bu**ers, cutting in, jumping queues by taking the wrong lanes etc. Ijust sat there placidly thinking 'If I wanted to, I could blow you away! - if it wasn't for the fact that I'm trying to be gentle on the car for the first few hundred miles!
