(have you been rather quiet or is it just me?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have been quiet - my W2K machine went down over the weekend (3 out of 4 drives in the RAID are reported as broken - I'm not sure whether to believe it!)

Anyway, pics - I have taken some and will upload as soon as I can.

Now wait for the chip bug to bite.. once it's bitten I'm afraid you'll be counting the days yelrotflmao.gif

You could always sell your ECU to Peter, Dave.

I reckon a tenner and a pack of cheesy poofs should just about cover the cost.

Hope you enjoy the car Peter!

Oh, and it's considered poor show to turn up at a funeral with a silly grin on your face, so make sure you take the A2 if you have to go to one smile.gif

Haha - if it's really important to turn up with a grim face, I'd have to take the old Corsa! It didn't seem too bad when we bought it 10 years ago but I don't drive it for pleasure these days!

If you want to go _really_ grim, you should try this Peugeot 106 "Zest" my wife's got as a loaner whilst her Golf's in for repair.

Don't know who thought up the name "Zest" for it, but "shite" would've been a better description. I'm convinced baked-bean cans have more metal in them than this pile of dung.gif. It doesn't have power steering (or power anything for that matter), and drives like a supermarket trolley on bedsprings.

Okay, I've put some piccies up. For the life of me I can't see how to name the album, so it's 'Untitled' on page 8 of the Audi cars.

Pete's RS6

Not being able to run a Wintel box (therefore no IE), I found the upload fairly tiresome. Iloaded the pics to my website, then had to copy them one by one to the gallery - I couldn't get it to take a whole directory full. Also, found it impossible to import pics with spaces in the filename, so I'm afraid the names are totally boring and meaningless.

Mac User or Unix geek then Peter ?

Errrr ... RISC OS, actually! That's the OS developed for the Acorn 32-bit machines, Archimedes, RISC PC etc. My main machine currently is an Iyonix, using a 733MHz X-Scale processor. But then I'm currently posting this from a Psion netBook (Epoc OS, on StrongARM SA1100), perched on my lap, with wireless network. Notice the common ground - British machines using derivatives of the ARM processor.

Yep. I've never been a fan of 5 spoke wheels - it took some time to get used to the 5 spoke competitions on the 2.7T. When I first saw the RS6 5 spokes, I knew I wouldn't be happy with them. Besides, I'm confident that when I come to kerbside parking, a gentle kiss isn't going to scar the wheels for life.

My main concern was the black roof lining (okay, I know it turns out dark grey, but it's fairly oppressive), so it was full silver upholstery (for free), or choose the headlining colour for £2100! In fact, having gone for the leather/alcantara combination (at £1450), I was offered the possibility of contrasting black/silver on the seats.

Oh, I will. On the drive home on Tuesday, coming of the motorway, there was an IS200 driver playing silly bu**ers, cutting in, jumping queues by taking the wrong lanes etc. Ijust sat there placidly thinking 'If I wanted to, I could blow you away! FIREdevil.gif - if it wasn't for the fact that I'm trying to be gentle on the car for the first few hundred miles!

David Newman has another one on the road now, and Peter tells me they've got three brand new in stock for immediate delivery.

BTW, you gonna come to Windsor meet next wednesday with lots of Meguiar's goodies?
