neo283
After weeks of toying with the idea, I am now the proud owner of a '74 Triumph Stag rag top! Got bored with the Banham constantly failing, so she'll be going on ebay shortly! The Stag is a great runner, engine was rebuilt 2 years ago just needs a respray, some new chrome lumps and a few minor cosmetic bits and job is pretty much a goodun! Anyone know of a decent bodyshop in the south west?
danksy
Cool! Which engine has it got? The originals were notorious dogs, and most were replaced IIRC. Always fancied one myself

Booster
Excellent motor! Just don't let it overheat or its an engine rebuild....
activa
I'd be surprised if it doesn't have a Rover lump in it by now. Always loved these as a kid but was to scared to own one as an adult, good on ya!

[/ QUOTE ] Indeed - there can't be many left with the original motor. Most owners got fed up with the regular top end overhauls to repair the warped head. However, it is a lovely car. The Stag was a close contemporary of the Scimitar GTE which I ran for 10 years.

neo283
Its still got the original Dolomite lump(s) in! What a find! Engine had a full rebuild 2 years ago, including an uprated cooling system, so its got the extra fan it always needed. Have yet to find if Webber do any uprated bits, but to be honet, if it works already there shouldn't be any point. The only stumbling point is that its the auto. Never been a fan of autos, but who cares! Need to decide what colour I should have it now! Will post some pics upon her arrival!
