have heard you need to get Audi to code it for you (cannot do yourself) and they need to call HQ in 'zee fazerland' to get it authorised etc

anyone else know different ?

That's what I've heard as well although there is a quick routine if it loses the link (battery change etc). Involves, I think, pressing the button and then using the key to open the car.

Anyone??

There are two codes:

first one if the immobilisor code, this is the one that you have to go to stealer for. it costs about £45. you used to able to request a code from them and enter it yourself with vagcom but they've got a new machine now so even the dealer never gets to see the code.

Second one is the central locking code. This can be programmed onto a new key easily enough with a simple routine.

The best solution is to buy key and blade off ebay then take it to your stealer for them to put the correct codes on for you 169144-ok.gif
