JamesB
Post title says it all, really. On holiday, my (not hugely expensive) digital camera ran into problems. The shutter is jammed half open (or shut, depending on your perspective) and the camera makes horrible grinding noises when switched on. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about digital camera repairs? I get the impression with a lot of modern hardware that it costs so much to repair and so little to buy new that it is rarely worth bothering with the former. Omi
I've stripped and rebuilt a Canon Powershot a few times with no ill-effects. If you have the tools, the patience, surgeons hands and a fair bit of mechanical sympathy then the worst case is that you break it. It was broken anyway! JamesB
Cheers, Omi. good point - if it ain't fixed, guess I can't break it (although I've known a few surgeons so I may update the post with a tale of woe )
