c8hau
Hey all, Just looking into maybe upgrading my head unit as I would like MP3's and WMA's in the S3, question is I like the info where the clocks are i.e what radio station you are listening to and what track you are on, will this be lost if I change the Audi Concert Stereo to an after market item? I know its a small thing but these things bother me! Cheers!
Chillihead
They will indeed, have you considered Phatnoise as an option, checkout ICE etc forum.
Colmartin
Yeah, if I were you, i'd invest in an I-Pod and get the denison ICE plugin, it'll be better than changing the system and gives you better functionality/capacity. The only downside is it will probably cost about £350 in total for the Ipod and the plugin. http://www.dension.com/icelink.htm
DukeDesmo
I fitted a Sony 6 disc CD/MP3 changer to my Head unit, works very well (although limited to 99 tracks per disc) and all controlled via the head unit with DIS etc, it even fits in the glove box (had to cut the back out though). Did think about changing the HU but I like the look of the standard one and the sound quality's pretty good - the only way to significantly improve the sound IMO would be with speaker/amp upgrades. Otherwise a Phatbox? but I liked the idea of MP3 on CDR/CDRW as they're cheap, easy to make and compatible with so much else. Just so time consuming transferring music from vinyl (yes I'm old!) to MP3
c8hau
Cheers for that guys think I will be upgrading the disc changer instead then! I don't have an ipod! =(
Hopsta
Forget disc changer, you can pick up a Phabox for cheaper and it fits oodles more songs on it. Its a little bit of messing about to get your songs on rather than slotting in a CD but then you'll get about 140 albums on it rather than 6 which you have to keep swapping about
