shao_khan
Car had its first service today (variable service) - it went to Bedford because they were £50 cheaper than Wayside for the same service, also because they gave me a fully inclusive price, wayside gave me a price without vat and other 'consumables'????? Anyway - service desk chap was on the phone, indicated he would be with me ina sec, but another chap interveened and got another young lady to help me - very pleasant greeting and helpful, explained everything, asked if I wanted the car washed or hoovered, offered to help me transfer stuff from my car to the loaner (2 kids, buggies, seats) all in all made the transfer very easy. Loan car was a New A4 Avant S-line - I didnt ask for this, was expecting an A2, but apparently I brought a family car in so got a family car in return! While there the car was also to be looked at for a coupl eof other items. Phone call by 1100 to advise car was finished - all works done, and following test drive it appears all work was done as well first time. Collection was very easy, so whole thing was actually a pleasant experience, I almost had to question if it was an Audi Dealer i had gone in!! So Bedford Audi, Service department 9/10 because they exceeded everything I expected. Not my local dealer, but in this trip for service and warrenty items did everything first time and correctly. cruiser647
Hey SK, I have used Vindi's in Bedford too. I ordered a wiper arm for my A6. They got it in and I went to pick it up. Got there, lady on the desk was happy and helpful. A chap was walking over and she got him to get the part. Didn't know if he was the parts geezer or not, but he got it anyway (I had paid over the phone for it, but he was not to know) and brought it over to me. All very pleasant. No waiting or anything. Also stopped at the new BCA Bedford auction site and had a wonder round.....Only had basic stuff there - nothing special. This was a Thursday. Am off this Thursday, so might pop back and have another wonder.......
scooby_simon
I think there is a bit of a "Bedford Effect" going on here. From what I can gather the Volvo and Audi Garage are in a bit of competition for prestige business in the area and are both pulling out all the stops. They did a great job when we picked up our car. Others I know have had similar good experiences with them too.

Ian_C
Yeah but you drive a 2004 Audi which needs main agent servicing to preserve the warranty I'm afraid! Ian

Ian_C
Shao cannot take his A4 to AmD / another specialist from day 1 without voiding the full factory 3 year warranty, surely? Ian
Botang
Ian you do talk a load of tosh some times. You are quite within your rights to have a car serviced at any garage as long as Audi (or whatever manufacturer) parts are used. This will not invalidate the warranty. Ian_C
Oh, I thought Audi didn't allow this and you needed dealer stamps to maintain full warranty. Ian
Botang
They dont have a choice its part of the EC Block exemption for cars I believe.
Booster
Yep, you are dead right Boatang . One of the dealers we do a lot of business with is quids in because of this ruling. They give a much better service than most main dealers and now have regular maintenance contracts with loads of fleet customers.
