ButtonMonkey
Has anyone on this forum ever put together a list of none detectable tuning mods for TDI's?? I've searched but can't find one as I've got an A4 Avant Sport TDi 130 which is just a tad too slow, especially when overtaking. The car has two years warranty left, which i don't want to void, but i do want to give it some more oomph. I know about the tune boxes but what other tuning mods are out there that Audi can't trace and which improve the pull of the TDi??
GCab
I think modifications are *always* detectable in principle. This means that whatever you do, don't try and do it without telling insurance, because a post-crash diagnostic at the request of an insurer is going to be much more thorough than a routine service check, and might invalidate your cover. Re. warranty: Audi dealers themselves can be quite laid back about it - rather than try to get something undetectable, may be better to ask your chief technician what his dealership's views are - mine actually recommended Superchips to me and said it wouldn't affect them taking the car back under warranty... The other solution is to use RSD in Banbury (who fit Oettinger mods) - they do a lot of work for Audi including the local dealer, and they issue their own warranty for the whole car, i.e. if for some reason Audi won't do some work on your car purely because it's been modded, RSD will do the work instead. A chipped turbodiesel will really shift it . I considered it for my 2.5 V6 TDI but it was FWD and I was already getting wheelspin and torque steer when it was unchipped Now I have a quattro and a 1.8T but waiting to find a decent insurer who won't give me a penalising premium hike.
