MattR32 Posted September 21, 2005 Report Share Posted September 21, 2005 Driving on the M5 at the weekend slowly overtaking in the "fast" lane when a 3 series undertook and swerved in front on me. I gesticulated my displeasure using sign language and the car (about 5 year old 323/325i I think) slowed down in the middle lane and as I went past it (my speed remained the same) they swerved into the fast lane about a foot in front of me, caused me to slam on my brakes then accelerated off to about 120mph. They were three youngish black guys and I'll get stick for this but I seriously wondered if the car was nicked. Didn't have time to get the plate. Tomk Posted September 21, 2005 Report Share Posted September 21, 2005 hate it when people do this, last night i was in a 30... and someone came up behind me, sat about a foot of my rear bumper flashing me to go faster... i just stood on the brakes be did not back off at all ! just stayed there , so i slowed to 20mph to let him overtake... ( jsut before a corner... ) then he shot past and did the same thing , swearved right in front of me about a food from the car.. turned on my full beams to get his plate.. ( and hopefully annoy him ) and he shot of ! must have been doing 70 - 80 by the corner.. IN A 30 !!! and it was a volvo s60 ! did not get the plate either... would not normally stand on the breaks but he had his lights on full was up my bum and trying to make me go faster! what a t*at why do people try and push you out the way / try to make you go faster / pick a race with you ? dont they realise that real drivers know better ? I had a real moment of panic as I thought it might get out of control. Luckily I didn't see them again. BTW Tom - Those things that slow your car down are called BRAKES!!! When they do something similar to someone else who does get their plate, your report will help corroborate the report against them. In your case MAstra they won't be hard to find on a Motorway. richy_uk Posted September 22, 2005 Report Share Posted September 22, 2005 I had a big Vauxhall van try to pick a race coming off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway last night. He didn't like the idea I was doing just over 40 in a 40 zone,came up to the roundabout which has 2 lanes, I go to the near side and he goes to the offside to get past me on the roundabout. A bit late now. [/ QUOTE ] Waste of time. I've tried to report similar things on a number of occasions, full details of the car etc, and the police couldn't have been less interested.
