nicks3
Im am speccing my R32 order. Can anyone tell me what you get with the telephone preparation pack and does anyone have any piccies? Will the kit link with a bluetooth phone without the specific cradle? What phones are supported by VW for the cradles?
Markallain
Surely someone must know about telephone prep?
RedRobin
I don't but I expect someone else here does but it's been quiet here today so you'll have to be patient. Perhaps the GTI isn't a typical 'phone-guy's' car - I don't know. You might even need an aftermarket head unit for Bluetooth - Who knows?
jason_s
ive gone for the tel prep too. the problem is you have to get the vw phone holder as i found to my dismay this week. is around £90 or so, i got him to throw it in.
silentandy
If you want bluetooth it's probably a better and cheaper option to go for an aftermarket one like parrot or nokia etc. They obviously won't work with the steering wheel controls though. ucjtckc
I'd recommend looking at the following post on UK-MKIVs: http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/245074/ShowPost.aspx Some poeple have been very disappointed with what the prep does for them and have had to replace OEM parts to get the unit to do what it says it's supposed to do in the manual. For some of those who didn't to the parts change they got refunds from their dealers as what they ended up with was a gloried phone holder and radio mute... 7MAT
Has no one fitted the Seat bluetooth module to the Golf and got it to work yet? I'm not getting my GTI till early next year but plan to give this a go, failing that I will probably go with a Parrot system, but not the VW prep system. Cleybrooke
Really intersting to see the article about getting a refund on the phone prep. I was quite dispionted with mine. Having spent £300 quid it really is not up to much. Seeing the post though suggests that with the High Line it should show load more info. I'm going to chat to the dealer about a refund! The other problem is that it rattles really badly (and just fall off!) For a list of cradles have look at the options on the merc website - they use the same oem for the cradles.
