Looked ok, but it had poverty spec cloth trim and I have to admit the spell was somewhat broken when he set off and it sounded like a 1.4 Astra. In frustration, one day she decied to kick one back, needless to say, she kicked a pile of white doings instead. I nearly died laughing, I think I actually stopped breathing for a moment. Wallachie Posted September 22, 2005 Author Report Share Posted September 22, 2005 It's a 120d, but it has an M-Sport kit of some sort, it's not the standard Sport kit. It had full leather, split rims etc - looked like a pretty good spec and I would imagine it would have cost circa £25k. I would buy one over an A3 2.0TDI (but maybe not over an A3 2.0 TDI Q S-Line!) If you need/want a five door hatch it's got to be a contender. What are the other "prestige" options? A3 Sportback or Golf. IMO they're a decent looking car and as the photo shows they can become a good looking car with the right wheels and a half-decent colour (although I think the black one's look even nicer). I think after having a bangle design for a year the design of the other models starts to grow on you . The 1 series M Sport versions certainly improve on the standard looks, plus the contract hire rates on a 120d sport are pretty attractive. To be honest though I'm waiting to see what the deals are like on the new Golf GT when it's launched in a few months. 170bhp in either 2.0d or 1.4 petrol with supercharger & turbo with the option of DSG.
