robin09
Havent had many problems with the R (except squeaking from the seats) but one thing that gets on my tits is when i set off to work in the morning the music will go silent for a few seconds intermittently. seems to only be when i start it in the morning two or three times a week and continues for about 10 mins. Anyone had similar problem? If i take it back to VW sods law says it wont happen! cheers.
TheEdge
hi mate ive had a few problems at times, not many though all my cds in the car are copies as i keep the originals at home. At times a cd will jump ahead a couple of seconds but this could be caused by driving over a bump on the road etc i still dont blieve that al lcds are best i cars i had a minidisc in my previous golf gti mark which never had any problems in its 5year use. Check your cds for scratches etc smears, not to sure if the standard R multi cd is good at reading copied cds. One thing for sure its well know in the Hi fi industry that multi cd players are never recommnded as the quality is nver good as mechanisms fail and are more liable to go wrong in comparison to a single disc!! next summer im getting a minidisc as well as a sony pioneer auto changer i somehow always think that car manufacturers never put enough quality into standard cd systems etc not that im complaining what ive got as it still punches a good sound for factory spec set up. i hope this helps
belperandy
Hi, Had a similar Problem in my old car (GOLF TDi with the 6CD headunit, same as in R32). They used to stop/jump in a morning and, I found this mainly happened when it was cold. I checked the CD's and they had tiny bits of Condensation on them (I know it's that wrong time of year, but it's probably wuite chilly some nights), then as soon as you switch it on first thing in the morning it's causing it to stop. What I used to do is take it out and give it a quick wipe, definitley agree with last post: Not great on Copied CD's
