Bison1379134007
Ok so never i have owned a car that gets sooo much random attention! Just took it out to get it fueled... stood there, nozzle in hand (so to speak) and one geeza on the way out gives me a smile and a nod the other in his landrover (not ya boy racer type) gives me a big thumbs up. Two in 10 mins! And almost everytime i take the fecker out i get comments, nods, smiles, thumbs up or the challenge! not to mention the 8 guys all stood round it for 10 mins asking questions at the hard car wash down the road! Its feels good to own something special! Coz i am special.. special needs! other r32 owners getting the same thing? N
ER785
You must be getting attention becoz: a) You have a nice looking chick on the passenger seat b) Bison is good looking also c) good press for R32

TonyD
Bison....The Golf is just cool European car. Everyone loves them, even Jezza Clarkson sings their praise on TG. Ok, so i don't own an R32, but my Anniversary edition gets the same sort of stares and interest from people that are interested in cars. I love it. You're right, it IS nice to own a car that other people think is cool.

I used to get pulled over at least once a week by cops who just wanted to have a looksee! I was hoping the R32 would be a stealth thing lol
Woppum
Yeah, the act that it is understated appealed to me also. I still think that it is not that eyewatering and the people which will find it of intrest are only people who know about cars and have an intrest. I think most the public wll just think it is an amazinglooking golf
Woppum
And Blue, why is every car that i am intrested in have to be a gay car. I hope you dont fancy me becasu i am just not that way inclined...
Adam
its what Blue considers humour..... anyway R32 = still quite rare and I have looked twice when seeing one, current darling of the motor press too I'm sure the same thing happened to those with the early S3s ? SkyBug
You wanna try driving a New Beetle RSi!! I doubt a Lamborghini Murcielago would get more looks!! Mind you, there are only 4 or 5 in the country, and I'm the only person who drives it as their everyday car! It's great to be different!

[/ QUOTE ] Nah - not just individuality - I'm a VW Beetle Nut. I've owned about 10 air-coolers and this is my 4th New Beetle (1.6, 2.0, 1.8T and RSi) and we have a cab for my missus on the way. How could I resist? The deliciousness of a beetle with a body to die for, incredible voice and enought power to pull out tree stumps!

[/ QUOTE ] They were £50K new - the one you saw will have been £29K + VAT (circa £35K). £35K for a new one is about the lowest I've ever seen 'em. You can get second hand ones *a little* cheaper (circa £30K). I bought mine ex-demo, so I got a few quid off... BMW M3?? I think I'd sooner eat live wasps!!! (Sorry - if it ain't VW, then it's no good for me!!)
