VERY bad time for selling cars at the moment. Nothing is shifting. As a comparison, a colleague of mine had a 53 plated Cooper S, pretty much every option bar sat-nav only done 6000 miles as it was a "toy" car, had it advertised on Autotrader and Mini2.com for ages with no joy and ended up selling it to a Mini dealer for £13k - this was in June. I reckon your mates car will fetch no more than £11,500.

Glass's Guide retail figure is only £13,100 at 30k miles.

Heard from a friend of mine that BMW completely ballzed up when building the Cooper S. They built too many too late once initial demand had fallen and now they can't shift em! Second hand prices are suffering because of it.

Booster also has a point. The market has definately slowed. 6 months ago I could hardly find a decent A3, now theres loads on the market, and for a cut price. GRRRR!

£11,500 for a loaded Cooper S is a steal. You'd think it'd go for more?
