Booster
VERY bad time for selling cars at the moment. Nothing is shifting. As a comparison, a colleague of mine had a 53 plated Cooper S, pretty much every option bar sat-nav only done 6000 miles as it was a "toy" car, had it advertised on Autotrader and Mini2.com for ages with no joy and ended up selling it to a Mini dealer for £13k - this was in June. I reckon your mates car will fetch no more than £11,500. Glass's Guide retail figure is only £13,100 at 30k miles.

neo283
Heard from a friend of mine that BMW completely ballzed up when building the Cooper S. They built too many too late once initial demand had fallen and now they can't shift em! Second hand prices are suffering because of it. Booster also has a point. The market has definately slowed. 6 months ago I could hardly find a decent A3, now theres loads on the market, and for a cut price. GRRRR! £11,500 for a loaded Cooper S is a steal. You'd think it'd go for more?
fingermouse
i think its the stupid stripes on the bonnet thats doing it I hate all those gimmiks they put on the new mini. Test drove a s works with a checked roof, stripes and loads of other crap the sales man was gobsmacked when I asked how much would he knock off if I took the car with all that naff stuff on it. neo283
Joker! Gotta say I'm with you on that one. Seems they try to make it too gimmiky. Reckon they're too keen to make it cute like the original.
