Motormouth
Hi, My passenger seat in A3 old model really rattles when no one sits in it. I have tried everything, usually I can nail a rattle, but this one I cant. It doesnt happen if I put sit forward (as if to let people in back). I have done the usual checks, head rest, WD40 all joints, stuff card into places. If Im stationary I shake the chair I cant hear the rattle either. Its doing my head in, anyone else got any ideas, thinking it might even be in the seat ! The seat is heated if that makes a difference with side airbags in them. Tomk
it may be the screws that attach the feat through tot he floor, i found with mine that i needed to undoo them and add rubber washers to cussion them , that helped me !
tunnelchaser
Dear Person,This maybe a daft question but what sought of rattle is it.Is it a deep rattle which would indicate a structual fault within the seat or seat mountings,or a lose rattle which would indicate something has come away within it and only makes a noise through vibration from car movement when driving. I probably totally wrong. Cheers Sean
Motormouth
Where are the screws that hold the feet to the floor, I cant see them at all ? The sound is defo in the car, I have found if I put a towel between the gap between the up right bit of the seat and the bit you sit on it goes away. Its a rapid rattle, gets worse over bumpy roads. neo283
My car has rattles all over the place - and they're intermitant. Really hard to pin point exactly where they're coming from. I think one is in the headliner somewhere, the others appear to be in the mullion section between the door openings & rear windws. How can you remedy the rattles once they've been sourced? I would guess the majority would be related to wiring or fixings inside the interior trim (in my instance)? It's so annoying, and my hearing is suffering from masking them out with the stereo! wasa
Just place a nice looking chick in the seat next to you, then if it still rattles you wont mind at all will you ?
