Decked
Thinking about getting a set of these for the R. What do you think? http://www.kahndesign.com/collection/rsv1/index3.htm I'm going to go for 19x8.5 with 235/35/19 tyres, what offset do i require lowered on a set of KW V2's? How much rubbing am i going to get? Thanks
lenny
decked, you need to run 225/35x19's to get no rubbing!

N3WOB
They're a bit more fussy than the sportecs, which I think suit the 32 better
Mook
The offset is 38mm. Lenny is almost spot on with the profile at 35 - this will make your car run at 60.9 mph compared to 60 mph with 225/40/18 as standard. Going to 235/30/19 profile will give you 58.7 mph Going to 225/35/19 will give you a more accurately matched speed at 60.3 mph and will also remove the risk of the outside edge rubbing on your inner arches. IIRC, Smudge runs 235/35/19s on his BBS CHs and there was a small amount of rubbing when the tyres were new. Think that the offending part of the sidewall has all been successfully scraped off now. Not sure if his new Uniroyal rain tyres are rubbing though. Don't worry, I don't keep all this stuff in my head, just check out http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html if you ever want to figure out what profile and width of tyre to go with. Ignore Ross's comment about the Sportecs - the RSVs look great i.m.o.

helfinger
i'm running a 8.5 J x 19 with 225 /35 r19 rubber on a 30 offset. i would be very surprised if you can get a 8.5 J rim with a 35 offset to clear the r32 brakes....to be quite honist you really a need to go no bigger than a 8 J if you want to lower the car as they will catch if your running a 8.5 J..... FiftyPence
My previous R had a set of Kahn RSS 19s and they looked awesome but good luck with the above posted Kahn rims
Decked
Just got the car back from Big Boys Toys with my KW V2's installed. Feeling much better than the original setup, not sure exactly what it is but it feels so much smoother, despite being lower and set midway on firmness. I need to do some more testing to be sure. Regards to the rims, once I saw the Kahn's next to the car I decided not to go for them, the RSS’ look loads better but I have a set of them in 18". So I've kinda gone with the older look with the BBS CH's. I've always liked the CH's but wasn't sure as loads of you have got them but luckily for me I haven't seen anyone here in Kent with them on so I decided to go for them instead. I’ll have the wheels fitted ASAP but as I’ve just had my tonsils removed so I’m not prepared to put myself through any unnecessary pain just yet. As soon as I’ve fitted them I’ll post some pics.
