nicks3
I'm running through the spec of my R32 order and wonder if anyone has a photo of a car fitted with the fatory tinted rear windows?
RedRobin
Is there not a R32 forum? - Guys in there will know much more than here about R32s.
nicks3
I doubt the MKV R32 people would be able to help as the R32 isnt out yet. There will be no difference in the window tints and I thought some GTi owners may be able to help me.
RedRobin
Fair enough nicks - was only trying to help but can see your point. Are you looking for photo of standard GTI rear window or is there an additional factory option I wasn't aware of? I can photo my standard window for you tomorrow if it helps. nicks3
No its ok, I thought the rear tinted window option from the factory was availbale to the gti too. Just wanted to see how dark they were.
RedRobin
I reckon this one has the option: I'm wondering what the combination of dimmed rear view mirror and tinted rear window does for night driving! And is the rear tint grey or blue to better match the rest? P.S.- Nice exhausts! I wonder where I've seen those before.
firel3lade
This link shows GTI with rear tints, don't know if they are factory or third party, hope this gives you some idea http://www.vwvortex.com/gallery/gallery2...20First%20Drive
RedRobin
Thanks Gixer! I really don't like the rear side windows darker tinted as well - Looks horrible imo! Looks DIY and a la van! I would only want the rear door window done, if at all!

nicks3
Andy, on a totally different subject what is the steel grey like is everyday use.......does it show scratches/marks and road grime? Not sure whther to stick with silver on the next car cos its so practical or go fro steel grey?
silentandy
Steel grey seems to be great at not showing how dirty it is when covered in road grime, at least compared to my previous car which was black. Light scratches aren't that noticable but deeper ones are, you'd get that on any colour though. VWs paint seems to be quite soft from the factory so I would recommend some kind of protection or regular waxing.
nicks3
Thanks for that.
silentandy
Back on topic: has anyone had the Pentagon Supaglass treatment? If you don't know what it is have a look in the reviews section at the top. Only problem is that it's likely to cost £600+ on the GTI.

[/ QUOTE ] If you've got the auto-dimming rear view mirror, it doesn't dim properly with rear tints. IIRC SixDegrees (R32 owner) has this problem - or maybe it's a feature...
