Factory Tints

Steel grey seems to be great at not showing how dirty it is when covered in road grime, at least compared to my previous car which was black.

Light scratches aren't that noticable but deeper ones are, you'd get that on any colour though. VWs paint seems to be quite soft from the factory so I would recommend some kind of protection or regular waxing.

I'm wondering what the combination of dimmed rear view mirror and tinted rear window does for night driving!

If you've got the auto-dimming rear view mirror, it doesn't dim properly with rear tints. IIRC SixDegrees (R32 owner) has this problem - or maybe it's a feature... tongue.gif

Only problem is that it's likely to cost £600+ on the GTI.

Not if you say you're from Tyresmoke. You should get a discount. 169144-ok.gif
