jem2768
Yup, always try the Diverter Valve first! 30 quid... money well spent in my opinion. Check the revision (stamped on the side, the letter at the end of the part number). Anything less than "N" is a worthless piece-o- Just do it man
A3Floyd
Vagparts do these by the way. They are cheaper than your 'friendly' audi franchise!
jem2768
Shame VAGPARTS can't get themselves a decent web site.... when they do I'll order thru them... until then it's easier to drive past the dealer and burn cash
ChrisT
Don't worry about the web site, just don't be lazy ring them up and they will be more than happy to help, for what audi charge you could get 2 DVs from vagparts! Chris.

Couldn't care less what their website is like really as their service is very good, and their prices are much better than the franchised dealers - even when you take postage into account. A full website for shopping for parts for VAG cars would take a massive effort to get up and running, and you'd still get a great many people phoning up just to clarify something, so I think Martyn & Paul's money is better spent on keeping their cost of parts down for the time-being. I'm not saying that a decent shopping website wouldn't be useful - it most definitely would, but it costs money to develop something like that properly and will come in time I'm sure. jem2768
Unfortunately I'm stuck in an office where it is MUCH easier to do things online than to get to a phone (and they don't like moby's round here...) thus if a company doesn't have an online presence I tend to go elsewhere. Wonder what they charge for delivery to N.I. anyways All a company needs to do is respond to mails - it doesn't need an elaborate website. I HAVE tried e-mailing them and received no response in the past... remember the short-shifter modification by putting in the TT part? Never did get an answer on a price from them on that one... looked an easy mod too. I even PM'd wossisname from VAGparts (can't remember, been that long) on this board asking about the price and still nothing... Ahhhh well... gettin' off the soap box now must be coffee time.... I haven't dealt with Martyn since he's been at VAGparts, but in both of his previous jobs I have found him to be extremely responsive to emails. Martyn has always struck me as being someone who is prepared to go to great lengths to ensure that he gives an excellent service.

[/ QUOTE ] I must say the name Martyn doesn't ring a bell... am I going senile or was there a guy called Paul associated with them? I've done a few searches here, and can't find the thread where we were discussing the TT gear linkage part as a replacement for the A3/S3 to shorten the shift (Drill! Help out here man, you did it didn't you?)... perhaps it was an old Audi-Sport-B.T.S. thread - must've been about 6 months back... But whatever, whoever it was never replied and I consigned them to the why bother pile... I'll reconsider next time I need a part though

jem2768
Cheers Drill! That is the right mod... but there was a thread on here (or AS.net?) that involved a chappy from VAGParts in the thread... it was whoever that guy was that I contacted... tis a long time ago now and I can't find it anywhere... doesn't matter no more as I just want to sell the car anyways. Drillslinger
Oh, well sorry I didn't find the right one. I DO seem to have a number of posts to dig through But I'm pretty sure that Martyn and Peter were the only 2 VagParts guys on here so
