Convertible DB9 with Jersey plates...

I have a house in Jersey, and it's a wonderful place. OK, so the house isn't mine, but I can go over when ever I like, and I do grin.gif

Until last year, a Jersey plated car could get away with going through Gatso's at any speed and not get done. That all changed though and my father-in-law got zapped.

It's such a relaxed place, no worries of security (phones left in cars etc), when I come back to the UK, it makes you think.

I'll probably sell up and move back there one day. grin.gif

Hmm, a DB9 on an island with a maximum speed limit of 40mph.

Every time I'm in Jersey, it amazes me how many fast cars there are per capita. I can't imagine the majority are ever driven at anything approaching their capacity. But then, I suppose if I was stinking rich, I wouldn't mind living in Jersey and I'd still want a nice car. I'd just make sure I frequently took it to places where I could give it some wellie ECLIPSe.gif

Yeah, but similarly your old RS6, if derestricted, would be able to exceed the 70 mph mainland limit by another 100...

A fair point in isolation, but at least in this country there is the opportunity to press on a bit in certain situations. As far as I am aware, there is one stretch of dual carriageway on the whole of Jersey. The speed limit is 40 and it is in a built up area. Even the twisties out there are difficult to get stuck into as a lot of them are barely wide enough for two cars.

I reckon I could drive at 170mph in a lot of places on the mainland in this country with far less chance of killing someone than I could at 70 mph anywhere in Jersey.

However, I'm more than happy to admit that my comment was more of a lead in to the fact that I am amazed at the number of quick cars on the island. I just hope that the owners get the chance to take them for a good run from time to time.
