Sparticus
Is it worth paying the extra for BP Ultimate in your TDi? Are their claims for their diesel correct ?. They see to be pushing it hard again in the media. Last week I used a coupon for Tesco diesel, filled up with their environmental Bio diesel, car sounded like a tractor, mpg dropped through the floor. Won't be doing that again. Opinions please. sotty
I use tesco normal diesel, seems to do fine. Which diesel is being discussed in detail on oil burners forum. Check the link Oil Burners "which diesel" thread
Mook
I used to run BP Ultimate in my Allroad TDI and it made absolutely zero difference at all to the performance, even with 250 bhp... Tried in in the GT TDI and also Mrs Mook's Passat TDI (same engine) and again, zip all difference. Bio diesel? Not yet thanks - still lots of grey areas re injectors getting clogged up etc.
R32North
My 128k, 12 year old burner doesn't give a toss which diesel it gets so long as it gets some.
A3Floyd
Mine too! on 103k miles at the moment and tried both tescos standard and BP Ultimate. Noticed no difference at all so sticking with the cheaper option. Considered bio but saw the prices and couldn't see the benefit. Standard diesel was cheaper plus you more MPG - no brainer!
