coolbeansA3
Hello All. Ive had my A3 for about a year now, but since having it I have had people, reverse into it, spill drinks inside, and have had it vandalised (none of it my fault) The Icing on the cake though is that I cahnged the battery, and since then the Airbag light has come on, which annoyed me for about a month, and now the ABS light has come on this morning!!!! Anyone that could lend a hand in the Manchester Area with a VAG-COM, or know of any specialists that could take a look? Much appreciated.

PetrolDave
In the same situation on my S3 it was the ESP sensor underneath the car that failed - do you have ESP on your A3?
coolbeansA3
I dont think I do you know, although to be honest Im not sure - nothing in the manual mentions ESP. Any Ideas How I could find out for definate? How much did it cost to get fixed anyway?

dq1
If you've got ESP you will have ESP button on the centre console which allows you to turn ESP off if required (for some fun!)
coolbeansA3
Yeah, I thought it would be something like that. My mates got one on his golf. I managed to get the light to turn off by: (do not recomend this at all) accelerating up to about 60-70mph, and slamming on the brakes, just to test if the abs is actually working, this caused a lock up, and then the abs kicked in and the light went off. Strange eh?? Probably not the safest thing to do but I just wanted to see if the abs was indeed broken.
