Sponge
Cheers, P&P is free with them. You can now order the video iPods from the apple site. They're in black too! Credit card will be taking a battering when I get home.

Sponge
Does anyone have any pictures of their installations? I'm still undecided how to do it. I don't want to do any drilling or sticking, so wondered whether to simply get the cable and leave the iPod sat in the glovebox or centre storage space. Sponge
I got my new iPod yesterday and I've received word my Ice>Link is on it's way. I'll hopefully be able to fit it this weekend. Of course, pictures will follow...
Soapsuds
I picked up an iPod photo in Singapore on my way back from Nam (bargain price!!!) and was looking at the Ice Link, but decided to go for a PAC-Pod unit from the states becuase you can still use your iPod controlls when connected - pretty minor, but i fancied that!!! £80 delivered - GHC seem good, and the cheapest on the net for icelink, so you have done well!! I am going to install mine inside my Center armrest, so it is hidden and i can simply flick the lid open if i need to use the iPod buttons (control with the PAC-Pod same as ice-link, but with Artist & Album selection added). Will take a bit if drilling though, so i may go down the dadwhitey route if i think it will look naff upon further investigation! Good luck! Lets compare installs when done!! Sponge
It arrived this morning. I haven't seen it yet, but my wife told me it looks well made and my iPod fits nice and securely. If I can get some radio removal keys in time, I hope to fit it this weekend.
Sponge
I've just got home and have been looking at the Ice Link. I've now realised I could do with a 'no-drill' mount. I've found this and wondered if anyone else has used one of these? Here's Brodit's website. There is a vehicle selector. Audi Angled Mount
Soapsuds
you not putting it 'out of site' then?? In the cotral console or in the armrest / glovebox?? You do know that the icelink disables the controls on the iPod????, so short of seeing the track name, its pretty pointless to have it on show - unless you like to see it on show that is!! Sponge
The iPod is a thing of beauty - it should be on show. Plus you still need to see the iPod display when navigating menus, even if you are using the controls on the head unit instead. And what I can remember from my brief view of the instructions, you can enable use of the iPod controls if you wish. This will allow more freedom to choose Playlists, etc. I now have the mount and radio removal keys on order. Unfortunately, this means I won't be able to fit it this weekend. Sponge
My keys and mounting bracket arrived this morning. However, I'm in work until 1900 and travelling down to Birmingham soon after. I'd like to fit the Link & iPod before I set off, so I have some toonz for the journey. I've just been giving some consideration to wire placement. Bearing in mind I intend to mount mine to the left of the head unit, does anyone have any advice on how to route the cable from the back of the head unit, to the front, without being too unsightly? Similar to the top pic (which I have shamelessly borrowed):
Sponge
I fitted it on Saturday and I'm suitably impressed. I'll consider writing a little more later and taking some pictures, I'm just finishing a night shift at the moment. The hardest part of the whole installation was getting the Symphony II unit out - damn, those removal keys dig into your fingers.
