Snail
Honestly, whos going to want to watch video on a 2.5" screen? You can get portable DVD players for about £100 with a 9" screen, they may not look as good, and you may have to carry a couple of DVDs with you, but they are sooo much better, and soo much cheaper. TP27
[ QUOTE ] The deed is done. 7 days wait though. [/ QUOTE ] At £219 for 30GB it's a good buy. I'm the to$$er who just bought a 20GB photo and now it's obsolete!!
s4dreamer
I prefer a nano. If I'm going to watch video, I want it on something bigger than a 320x200 resolution screen.

aal234
this looks neat but notice hey haven't really sold it as a video ipod. more of an ipod that can do video as well as music etc. Wonder if this is to test the demand for video? If it takes off I can see a dedicated video ipod being released. Having used a portable dvd player I would prefer to carry something like the ipod as its smaller and lasts a lot longer. Ideal device would be an ipod with 5 inch widescreen. Just the right mix of usability and portability. Real downside to portable dvds, especially the big screen ones is you are lucky to get two movies out of one battery charge.
Ritey
I'm guessing a nano price drop is on the cards looking at the spec comparisons for this new one and the current price of the Nano
Sponge
To be honest, I see the video capability as a bonus, not the main feature and reason for buying it. The larger screen is a plus. I already have a 2-gen 20gb and it is full. And I wanted something bigger. Something I could also transfer photos to, when on holiday. I nearly bought a Photo iPod last week, I'm glad I didn't.
