dq1
A3 1.8T 2000 (x reg), should my DIS display a warning if the driver's door is open? Does it for the passenger.
Dusty
I'd say yes.... my old Golf which was a Y reg used to. If it does it for the passenger side, then it should do for the drivers.

Ari
Yup. I had a 2000 A3 1.8T quattro and I know that did cos I had the opposite problem, it wouldn't go off (unless you really slammed the door). Fault with the door pin that senses the door closed apparently, probably the same with yours but the other way around (ie pin stuck in so doesn't sense the door open). PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Thanks for the replies guys. Anyone know where the door pin which senses the door open is located, any pics? [/ QUOTE ] The switch mechanism is built into the actual lock. You have to remove that from the door to work on it.
Dallan
Hi....... just found this chat forum. Have 2001 S3.with a problem in the same field as above. When I close (firmly) the driver's door the DIS display shows the door still to be open. The white and red lights remain lit on the bottom and 'B' post part of the door. Previous chat mentions a 'pin sticking' in the door locking mechanism. Is this fixable by oneself or is it a dealer job? If an yone's had this problem and sorted it - What did you do? Thanx. D.
