simonp
I've been offered a v nice looking A4 130 Sport Avant with factory-fit Quattro bodykit, full leather and some toys for what I think is good money. However, what are people's perceptions of such beasts when it comes to "selling on" time, i.e I own it for a yr and all is well, then suddenly find everyone avoiding picking up the phone because they thinks it's a blinged up estate with everything bar full tints and neons! I'm obv gonna check out as much as poss about the history because I myself don't want a car that's looks like it's been blinged for the sake of it, but I have to say it does look peachy Cheers
UBM
Have you got a pic?
Sparky
Providing it's a proper body kit, then go for it. If it's someone's idea of making it look more impressive then no. I personally wouldn't buy an A4 without some form of body kit or s-line package.
gizze
Totally agree, the avant with kit looks really good. I nearly boughy a 54 plate sport with the kit in black for very good money but needed the extra space of the A6 in the end.
simonp
I've been informed it's the GMbH kit (Quattro?) and have pics but don't know how to upload them. They're not on the web so I can't link to them Will do a search Also found another high spec 130TDi Sport Avant but it's an ex-Avis car. Genuine 75k history with lots of bits replaced recently (inc discs and pads). Methinks this means it's either done lots of motorway miles or has been ragged and abused. Hmmm ... garreth64
When I bought my Avant, I specifically wanted the gmbH bodykit as I think it suits the car well but is still quite subtle and not over the top. Personally, I wouldnt buy an ex hire car though....
gizze
I wouldn't buy an ex hire car either, it would have to be very cheap! I was looking at a 54 plate in ebony black, rs4 style alloys, symphony with bose, multitronic, black alcantara and obviously sport with the gmbh bodykit, it had 21k miles on it and was up for £16,750 and they would have let it go for £16,250 with no trade in, but sure I could have got it for £16k. With 75k miles and therefore no warranty, which would cost £800 if you could get it, I would want to pay around £13-14 for a 2004, or a couple of £k less for a 2003. Chav
Agreed. If I was buying a B6 avant, it would have to have the gmbh s-line body kit, or the OEM sport bodykit ... or it would have a V8
