david_d
Bit confused regarding upholstry and seating options when looking through the pricelist. What's the different between bucket seats which come as standard, and the optonal recaro seats which are a no cost option? And what exactly is Silk Nappa? which is another no cost option but has to be combined with recaro?
Woppum
The standard seats are the racing seats you see in the mags. The Recaros are a more softer pagackage they use in the S3, S4 and so on. Looks just like a normal seat. You want the buckets!
Insurance Jon
the buckets are a no cost option, if you don't tick the box you get normal recaros. The RS4 price list is a minefield, pick armrest phone and it deltes the sport button off the steering wheel, go figure?
david_d
Bucket seats are under standard equipment in the pricelist I have. There are two interior colours you can choose, Black/Black & Black/Silver which has silver headlining.
Insurance Jon
I've gone for black everything inc all the normally chrome bits. I specced mine that long ago things might have changed. It was back in march as Audi were trying to get it here in time for us to do the cannonball in it. Hence I've now got one in the first build week. I'm undecided on the trim, the trim on the silver RS4 at geneva looked nice, but I like carbon fibre too.
Dave
Black optics is where you loose all the silver trim around the car, such as around the windows. it's black instead of chrome.. gives it a stealth look, but personally i'm not so keen. The GmBH suspension is the sports setup, The car is lowered 10mm, has firmer springs and dampners. It will give a harder ride, but more sporty for track use. As i only plan to track mine a couple of times and have to drive kids around i haven't gone for that option either.

No idea yet of the price of the optics and suspension?
Dave
As far as i know, every bit of chrome is replaced for black, so not only around the windows, but around the front grill aswell.

Insurance Jon
It isn't everyones cup of tea, but I'm going for the stealth racer look. the badge stayes chrome though, but all other chrome/ali inc the mirrors becomes piano black. I can't remember the price of the suspension but I can find out on monday. Looks like ceramic brakes are becoming an option too at around £3k. rjgreen4
the black is a better option as it will not corrode like the silver trim. The silver trim does not seem to like screen wash either. I think the black had a PVD coating and will not corrode

Anyone see this? If I remember it had RS6 wheels too.

My dealer told me they were stopping doing the alu trim as the corrosion is bad. I told them it was the screenwash - they laughed - then I told them I was a PhD chemist and explained how it happened. They didn't laugh....
david_d
So how is black optics going to look on a non black car? I cannot imagine, and what colour will the door mirrors be?
Insurance Jon
you would just colour code them I presume.
