Botang
Whats people opinion on cars that you know have been resprayed. For example my A8 (pictured below) was resprayed under warranty by the Audi dealer. They said at the time that they werent going to do the roof but the rest of the car got done (4 doors, boot lid and wing were new pannels). I am a little concerned that if I get someone to machine polish and detail the car I could end up ruining the paint. To be fair to them I cannot spot where they have belended it but I dont want to undo their work.
OGWT
How long ago was the car re-painted? A pro/experienced enthusiast detailer will not harm a paint finish by using a machine and a polish JonM
malagus
if the paint sprayer was any good, he would match the clour spot on, so there should be vey little problem

Hudson
Had my A6 polished with a Dual Action Polisher (USA)not as aggresive as a rotary buffer (ie professional kit) but can still give a better job than by hand, also will remove surface scratches and give a real deep shine. Not a bad compromise. By the way why did i need all the panels done ? Keying ?

[/ QUOTE ] I cant see if that paint is metallic or solid. I assume its a 2k metallic, so it is nigh on impossible to get a colour match, as it depend on how the ally lies. If its solid however, there is no real excuse for a bad colour match.
Botang
The car had a corrosion problem hence the (almost) complete respray. It is metallic, its called Aggate Grey, but gives a siler/blue/grey apperance.
malagus
Ah. Might as well have gone for a total strip and respray as do that, as they will never get an exact match spraying that colour on such a wide area.
