MikeA2B
Hi Rockstar, I recently swapped my front bumper for an S4 bumper, it was a little tricky and took a while but it was worth it; From this: to this: As far as I can remember this is how its goes; 1) take both front wheels off and prop the car up on axle stands. 2) remove the push in clips and 8mm bolts which hold the inner wheel arch splash trims (only remove the clips nearer to the bumper) pull back the splash shields so you are able to see and access inside the wing / back of the bumper. 3) using a socket set / extension bar and an 8mm socket undo three nuts on both sides which connect the bumper to the wing. 4) remove the lower centre grille and fog lights and grilles 5) when you take off the lower grilles look up from the ground and you should see two 13mm (I think) bolts, you will need a long socket to access these, the dont need to be fully removed, just loosen until they do unthread anymore. 6) with the help of a friend give the bumper a wiggle at the front, a nd it should come loose 7) when the bumper seems loose you will need to unclip the sides where the bumper fits into the wing, a flat screwdriver done the job prising from the inside of the wheelarch, just be careful. re-fitting is same but in reverse order, the hardest bit was getting the two big bolts to line up (the ones near the lower grilles) Also make sure you have a mate there to help. rockstar
Thanks Mikefor the instructions,it seems reasonably ok to do ,but am a little stuck when it comes to having axle stands and extention socket bar...so am wondering would i be best to just get a paint shop to do everything, its gonna cost more but as i said i aint got all the equip needed, Dont suppose anyone in the liverpool area knows a good garage where i can get the bumper sprayed and fitted, phoned one and was quoted roughly around £150 to get it sprayed and fitted.. any one recommend anywhere.. thanks all.
