Arm Rest

Well i had one in my previous 4 Motion and it was nothing but a pain. If you used it to store anything it rattled and it got in the way of gear changing i found. Maybe that could have been due to the distance i had the seat away due to my long legs but i used to just put it up out of the way. Im really glad my 32 didnt have one when i bought it otherwise it would have been removed !. Just my findings but you did ask ! 169144-ok.gif

An OEM one will fit no problem. I can't speak for the after-market ones as I have yet to find someone who has fitted one bought from Lithuania, or wherever the heck they're copied. Sorry, manufactured. tongue.gif

Helfinger has got an OEM cloth version from another Golf on his 3 door R32 and it fits fine. He's just waiting to get it retrimmed in leather / "leatherette" to match the rest of the interior.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi all,

This arrived in today's post LINKY. The quality all seems OK to me and for £31.84 including delivery all the way from Hong Kong I am not complaining.

It has come complete with all brackets and bolts and all I need to do is fit it! Although it won't be this weekend as car is booked in at stealers for 7 - 10 days to investigate gearbox vibration when in sixth gear confused.gif

Another reason not to complain is that they have sent me 2 complete units instead of one by mistake beerchug.gif

I will update in a week or so when I get my car back and its installed.

Regards,

Dave

Hi,

Following on from my post above, I have finally got the car back from the stealers (in for 3 weeks to sort out gearbox vibration openfire.gif) and am about to fit the arm rest.

As it came with no instructions can someone help me with a quick guide on how to install please.

Cheers,

Dave,

Check out the beginning of the post in the URL below for instructions.

It doesn't tell you how to fix the arm-rest, but tells you how to get to the fittings needed for fixing it.

Its pretty straightforward.

You don't need to completely remove the centre console, just lift it up so as you can get enough room to fix the arm rest mounting bracket.

Cheers
