50% been the lightest they do....

1st time I've heard of the tint grading being done that way. It always been how much of a reduction, ie 20% = light, 30% = darker and 50% = darker still.

Certainly doesn't look like 50%!!

Been advised that the factory tints are about 12-15 LTV and your allowed 30 LTV at the front, don't quite understand the film LTV 50%-35%-20%-5%.....My thinking is that the number % equals the LTV which means mine are 62-65 LTV...........

As for the cost...£240 plus Tony's tax

Will try and post some better pic's of it tomorrow

If your tint film is 50% on top of the factory tint then your LTF is 35-38%, tints are additive (though I think it's more likely they are including the existing tint in the %). So they are well illegal, but as some mentioned, they don't stand out on a black car so you may well get away with it. On a white car you'd probably be pulled daily!

Today I saw Forge's GTI for the first time and have to say that these are the best window tints I've seen so far. As you can probably see, they are very subtley graded and darker from front to rear of the car. From inside the car you have great difficulty realising that the windows are tinted at all.

Post here to express serious interest if anyone wants the same team who did Forge's car to do theirs and I'll put you in touch next week. The GTI is different from other cars to tint professionally....Access to the glass is by removing the outer door skins and not inside.
