Head Unit change

it all depends on which dim slot you fit the headunit. I put mine in the top. The tray has been made to fit in the top therefore the tray is upside down in the car. This doesn't sound like a problem but you'll notice some slots on the tray that will now be on the bottom.

You can just see them here, if you look close.

It's not a problem, to be honest nothing goes in here as everything would come flying out when you put your foot down.

if you ask your local dealer really nicely, they'll probabally part with one for a beer or two - this is how i got mine anyway, for the bargain price of £1!

They'll usually have a few kicking around from when they've fitted cd players/changers into golf's/polo's etc.

You can get them for either the top or bottom DIN slot too - its pretty self explanatory when you get it, it'll only go in one way up as there are holes on one side of it, and it just clips in - piece of phish!

I am still tempted by the double-din idea. Especially the kenwood units....however, I've grown rather accustomed to the 6 cd in the dash. I really can't be bothered with having a changer in the boot....seems like such a step back...so the other option is to try and keep the current changer...

Spent a while with google but no luck so far....

Have found loads of adapters to allow use of 3rd party changers with VW headunits though....
