shao_khan
Anyone ordered this option with their GTi? Does it make any difference or is it really just a 'lowering' option?
Simonl
Didn't realise it was an option! IMO if the GTI is already perfectly balanced/poised enough to win 'Best Handling Car' of 2005 in Auto Express, then it must be good enough already. RedRobin
I don't think it's an extra option cos it's already a standard feature of the Mk5 GTI. My guess is, SK, that you have accidentally misread a blurb which points out that the GTI has Sports Suspension whereas the other Golf Mk5s don't (excepting the R32 of course). Wouldn't want it lower anyway, especially at front....Plus she handles pretty well as is.
Simonl
Mind you, wasn't Sport suspension an option on that crazy £25k + Clio V6 Sport!
shao_khan
Ah - thatll be it - the photocopy brochure I have has the option list, but no dots to say whats standard on what, so I guess that must be it
mu71rd
suddenly getting worried about various comments on here about a low front lip! I don't remember noticing it being particularly low on the test drive. There are so many speed bumps around my area - am I going to have problems? RedRobin
Hi mu....No problems with speed bumps and I've encountered numerous types already in my 3,200 miles. You gotta watch parking nose first to a kerb....Very tight. I always park rear in first if I possibly can - always have done. You can get VW approved front sensor beepers retro fitted but.... skifly
always go in forward - then some nasty feckers dont notice the car as much. The nose gets lots of attention whereas the arse is much more discreet.
RedRobin
....unless your arse is fitted with Quads! But I go in rear first for safety reasons....Silly to subsequently reverse out into any traffic flow. Also much more convenient.
faidilah
and nasty feckers are not necessarily thick feckers (though often are)... i had my front badge swiped even parked forward in... back her in as a rule for the record

nutkins
The signiture one I'm guessing - It's probably a resolution issue with the photo faidilah.. I would tell you the ideal size to use but as you can see I don't have one!
silentandy
Avatar size is max 80 x 80 so it would be best to resize your pic to this first and then upload rather than relying on the browser to resize it dynamically.

Tunner
Speed humps are not a problem with the 18's, which of course are the alloys of choice!
